Following on from the success of the inaugural summit in 2015, the 2016 Construction Industry Summit will once again provide professionals and individuals from across all sectors of the built environment with the opportunity to come together, to learn, network and collaborate.
The theme for the 2016 summit is how we create a built environment and a sector that is fit for the future. Economic constraints together with sustainability issues and the impacts of climate change have created a perfect storm of imperatives that are challenging the traditional ways in which we construct our built environment.
We need an industry that is a dynamic, collaborative, innovative and highly productive in order to overcome these challenges and turn them into opportunities for the industry to thrive, while best serving its clients and society.
The 2016 Construction Industry Summit will present a cast of leading industry innovators and thinkers from within and outside the industry to showcase some of the changes that are already happening in industry – new business models, new methods of financing and procurement, examples of industry working in partnership with clients, ways of streamlining processes and freeing up workflows. Future skills needs, and developments in current skills shortages, will also form an important part of the agenda, alongside environmental and sustainability issues and advances.
This flagship conference will engage and empower stakeholders from across all sectors of the built environment to get involved in the conversation, challenge thinking and learn from one another. It is only through joined-up thinking that we will thrive in these economically and environmentally challenging times; the time for big-picture collaboration is now; industry needs to work together to deliver exceptional outcomes and performance, and to attract to it and retain the best talent the nation has to offer.
The Construction Industry Council, the Strategic Forum for Construction and the Construction Industry Training Board are pleased to come together again as lead organisers of the 2016 Construction Industry Summit.
