CIC would like to invite you to attend another meeting from the Economic and Policy Forum series.
This time we will have a presentation from Peter Andrews of the Bank of England, who will consider the latest outlook for construction in the light of figures released by the ONS, which show that technically speaking there was no double dip recession. The revised figures released on 11 May showed that the construction sector shrank by 5% in the first three months of 2012, less than the 5.4% contraction initially reported.
The other presentation will be from Andrew Carter of the Centre for Cities. Andrew will base his presentation on the “Cities Outlook 2013” report which looks at trends in 63 urban centres in the UK. This regional picture will be examined in light of governance trends such as the move towards combined authorities. In particular, there will be an in depth look at housing as a generator for growth.
