BIM4SME Launch Event

This event has finished

The Construction Industry Council (CIC), in partnership with the Government’s Building Information Modelling (BIM) Task Group, is hosting the launch of the BIM4SME Group. BIM4SME is a working group made up of individuals from SME organisations who have a passion for BIM and a desire to help SMEs (in all areas of construction be they consultants, contractors, specialists, suppliers or manufacturers) to understand and engage with the BIM process.

For many who have started the journey towards using BIM this may mean developing their understanding and providing access to networks; for those who have yet to begin the aim will be to provide an awareness and appreciation of BIM and an understanding of why it is considered important. Moreover, as the group is made up of SMEs, the cost equation will be foremost, so questions such as ‘What do I get for my money? What are the benefits? How long before my investment is paid off?’ will be addressed.

Come along to this FREE event at the Building Centre, 26 Store Street, London at 9.30pm – 1.00pm on 15 April 2013. You will hear from many of your peers who will present a real life view of BIM from their own perspective. The event is an opportunity to speak freely and openly about any concerns or issues that are seen as a barrier to BIM implementation for SMEs.

Going forward, the BIM4SME group will provide an voice for the SME community to reflect its concerns and interests back to the Government’s BIM Task Group.
