The Construction Industry Council (CIC) is the representative forum for the professional bodies, research organisations and specialist business associations in the construction industry.

CIC Inclusive Environment Briefings

The Inclusive Environment Briefings (IE Briefings), is a new CIC initiative for 2018, which provides regular technical and policy updates; with comments on key initiatives and current issues relevant to the achievement of an accessible and inclusive environment.

The briefings bring together leading policy-makers in the construction industry, access and inclusion expertise and senior industry players to discuss the key topics in an informal setting.

Chaired by Tony Burton, Partner at Gardiner and Theobald and CIC’s Inclusive Environment Champion, the Briefings run four times a year, from 9.30am – 11.30am with two speakers, the opportunity to ask questions and network with experts in the field.

  • Shared Space Review – update by Peter Dickinson, Chair of CIHT’s Urban Design Panel
  • Inclusive Mobility guidance and the results of the Accessibility Action Plan consultation – Alison Franks, Head of Accessibility and Inclusive Travel, Active Accessible Travel, Department for Transport
