Challenges and Opportunities

14 – 15 November 2013

The Best Western Plus Windmill Village Hotel, Allesley, Coventry

2013 has seen a great deal of change for the Association of Building Engineers with greater clarity of purpose, increased understanding of Building Engineering and a recognition by industry in general that the key aim of the Association set way back in 1925 to ‘encourage and facilitate co-operation between the construction professions is becoming increasingly important.

In the future the challenges facing the whole industry will be considerable and there will be increased expectation that professionals will be able to meet the challenging needs of clients, fellow professionals and society in general across a range of disciplines.

The 2013 conference aims to consider these issues and provide professionals with key information in relation to the changing face of the industry. The theme of the conference is ‘Future Challenges and Opportunities’ and the concise and focused programme has been designed to look at the major influences on our industry, from the collaborative aspects of Building Information Modelling to the increasing challenges of dealing with new and existing buildings which are expected to perform under greater extremes of climatic conditions. The conference aims to review what the industry has traditionally practiced and consider how this may change in the not too distant future.
